Control & Assurance Officer
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Control & Assurance Officer to support the organization’s internal control, risk management, and compliance initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting reviews, reconciliations, audits, and control assessments to identify risks, ensure accuracy and strengthen processes.

- Reconcile salaries with invoices
- Reconcile expenses with invoices
- Verify all invoices received and confirm payment are received.
- Conduct a risk assessment to mitigate risk, prevent errors/non-conformity, and fraud.
- Follow up and act on approval emails received from the MD and other payment authorities.
- Review the current standard and develop procedures to inspect and correct quality issues.
- Prepare a general monthly report and report crucial matters immediately.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure all internal business-relevant certificates such as Group-life, NSITF, HMO, AOPN, Recruiter’s licence, Pencom certificate, expatriate quota, etc., are renewed as and when due.
- Vet all items procured, undertake quality assessment, and ensure quality is maintained.
- Verify salaries of outsourced staff where necessary.
- Review payment vouchers, expense claims, bank reconciliations, and cashbook records for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Conduct periodic physical counts of office equipment, IT hardware, and operational inventory items.
- Continuous engagement of internal stakeholders on Control and Assurance
Requirements:
- BSc. degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in Auditing, Internal Control, or Risk Management.
- Registration with or progress toward professional bodies (e.g., ICAN, ACCA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and inquisitive.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate well with teams.
