Role Overview
We are seeking a competent and patient-focused Consultant Family Physician to deliver high-quality, comprehensive medical care across outpatient and inpatient services.
The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical expertise with a proactive approach to patient management, while also contributing to the supervision of junior medical staff and maintaining high standards of clinical practice. This role is suited for an early-career Consultant looking to grow within a structured and quality-driven healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist consultation and holistic patient care in line with Family Medicine best practices
- Manage outpatient services, including general consultations, preventive care, and executive health screenings
- Oversee inpatient care, ensuring appropriate treatment plans and optimal patient outcomes
- Support, guide, and supervise Medical Officers and junior clinicians where required
- Perform and interpret basic diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound imaging
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care
- Contribute to clinical quality improvement initiatives and adherence to healthcare standards
- Ensure compliance with MDCN regulations, clinical ethics, and hospital protocols
Core Clinical Duties (Daily Operations)
- Deliver patient consultations during standard working hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Diagnose medical conditions and implement evidence-based treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Provide clinical input and decision support to junior medical staff
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- Fellowship Certification in Family Medicine or related specialty (e.g., FWACP, FMCFM)
- 1–3 years post-fellowship clinical experience
- Valid and current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)

- Proficiency in basic ultrasound diagnostics
- Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic capability
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
Preferred Competencies (Added Advantage)
- Basic procedural or minor surgical skills
- Experience in preventive medicine and executive health programs
- Exposure to private healthcare or structured hospital systems
