Job summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to join our team. The Class Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The role involves planning and delivering developmentally appropriate lessons, observing and assessing children

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and the EYFS framework.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports exploration, creativity, and active learning.
  • Maintain positive classroom routines and guide children’s behaviour using nurturing and developmentally appropriate strategies.
  • Observe and document children’s learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to progress reports.
  • Use observations to inform lesson planning and support individual learning needs.
  • Ensure the classroom is organised, safe, and well prepared for daily activities.
  • Maintain learning materials, displays, and learning centres that support the curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues to support children’s learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians.
  • Share updates on children’s progress and development when required.


Requirements:

  • A positive attitude and genuine passion for nurturing young children.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching children aged 2–5 years in a structured early years setting.
  • A Bachelor’s degree (a degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a closely related field is an advantage).
  • Demonstrable experience planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning activities aligned with an EYFS curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior guidance skills.
  • Exceptional patience, emotional intelligence, listening skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for lesson planning, documentation, and communication.
  • Current first aid and child safeguarding training is an added advantage.
