Civil Engineer
Job summary
We are recruiting an experienced civil engineer – civil works & site acquisition – to lead civil construction, site feasibility and site acquisition activities across our project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have vast experience in civil works and site acquisition for telecom/energy/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end civil works for site builds and upgrades (foundation works, access roads, drainage, compound and fencing).
- Manage the site acquisition process: site surveys, landlord negotiations, lease/wayleave/permit coordination, due diligence, and handover documentation.
- Plan and deliver projects on time, to spec and within budget — prepare and maintain project schedules, resource plans and budgets.
- Supervise, mentor and coordinate site teams, contractors and subcontractors; enforce QA/QC and HSE standards.
- Produce and review technical drawings, BOQs and method statements; coordinate with design and procurement teams.
- Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies and community stakeholders to secure permits and minimise delays.
- Prepare regular site progress reports, risk registers, and post-completion handover packs.
- Drive cost control, change-order management and continuous improvement on civil delivery.
Requirements:
- B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering (a master’s degree is an advantage).
- Professional registration (e.g., COREN) and membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years’ practical experience in civil construction/site acquisition for telecom or infrastructure projects.
- Strong track record managing multi-site rollouts and supervising contractors on foundations, civil structural works and access infrastructure.
- Proven experience negotiating land/lease agreements, obtaining permits and managing landlord/regulatory relationships.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Project / Primavera (or similar), and Microsoft Office. GIS experience is a plus.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of HSE practices and construction quality assurance.
- Experience with tower erection sites, telecom power infrastructure or data centre civil works.
- Familiarity with local land laws and permit processes across Nigerian states.
- Experience with cost estimating and BOQ preparation for civil works.
