Public Relations Officer
Job summary
The church's public relations officer serves as the primary evangelism and community engagement liaison for our church. This role focuses on actively spreading the Gospel, building relationships with the unchurched community, coordinating outreach initiatives, and representing the church in public spaces.

Responsibilities:
Evangelism & Gospel Outreach (40% of time):
- Actively share the Gospel message through personal interactions in the community
- Organize and lead door-to-door evangelism campaigns in surrounding neighborhoods
- Conduct street evangelism and public witnessing events
- Develop and implement creative evangelism strategies to reach different demographics
- Train and equip church members in personal evangelism and soul-winning
- Follow up with visitors, new converts, and people who express interest in the church
- Organize evangelistic events such as open-air crusades, community gatherings, and outreach programs
- Partner with local schools, businesses, and organizations for evangelistic opportunities
- Coordinate altar call follow-up and new believer discipleship programs
- Track evangelism efforts and conversions for ministry reporting
Community Engagement & Public Relations (25% of time):
- Build and maintain relationships with local government officials, business leaders, and community organizations
- Represent the church at community meetings, town halls, and public forums
- Develop strategic partnerships with schools, hospitals, prisons, and community centers
- Coordinate church participation in community festivals, fairs, and public events
- Serve as the church spokesperson for media inquiries and public statements
- Organize community service projects (food drives, neighborhood cleanups, charity events)
- Establish the church's presence and positive reputation in the local community
- Network with other churches and ministries for collaborative outreach
- Identify and pursue opportunities for community impact and service
Member Relations & Pastoral Care (20% of time):
- Maintain regular contact with church members through calls, messages, and visits
- Follow up with members who have been absent from services for two or more weeks
- Conduct home visits and hospital visits as needed
- Maintain confidential member database and contact records
- Assist in conflict resolution and member reconciliation when necessary
- Coordinate welcome processes for new members and visitors
- Plan and execute member engagement initiatives to strengthen community bonds
Communications Coordination & Support (10% of time):
- Collaborate with Content Creator to ensure evangelism campaigns are promoted on social media
- Provide content ideas, testimonials, and field reports to Content Creator
- Work with Admin to ensure website reflects current outreach programs and events
- Prepare written communications for print materials (flyers, newsletters, brochures, invitations)
- Write press releases and media announcements for major church events
- Coordinate messaging consistency across all church communication channels
- Provide feedback on digital content from an evangelism and community perspective
Event Planning & Execution (5% of time):
- Plan and coordinate evangelistic events and outreach campaigns
- Organize visitor welcome events and newcomer integration activities
- Coordinate logistics for community service projects and outreach programs
- Recruit and train volunteers for outreach events
- Evaluate event success and provide recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of a BSC
- 1 year of previous experience in a similar role
