Chinese Translator

Responsibilities:

• Responding to customer questions and concerns via phone, email, live chat, or in person.
• Providing accurate interpretation during real-time conversations (meetings, calls) and translating written documents (emails, reports, user manuals, marketing materials) between Chinese and English.
  
• Troubleshooting product or service-related problems, processing orders and transactions, and collaborating with other departments (Sales) to address specific customer needs.
  
• Documenting each customer interaction and issue in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and providing feedback to management about recurring concerns.
  
• Acting as a cultural bridge to ensure smooth cross-cultural communication, helping to localize content and company policies to meet the expectations of the Nigerian audience.
  
• Keeping customers informed about order statuses, updates, and other relevant information to ensure satisfaction. 

Requirements:

• Fluency in both English and Chinese, with a strong grasp of grammar, vocabulary in both languages.
  
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, active listening, problem-solving, and clear communication abilities.
  
• Precision is crucial to ensure accuracy in all translations and interactions.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and translation tools (CAT tools, terminology databases) is valued.
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  
• A bachelor's degree in linguistics, a related field, or relevant work experience is typically required.
• Professional certifications, such as from the American Translators Association (ATA), can be an advantage.
