ABOUT RADREALITY
RadReality is a health tech startup and a member of the African Impact Challenge (AIC)
Cohort 2026 and the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) program. We are building the
diagnostic infrastructure Africa deserves: a professional, offline-first Hospital
Management System (HMS) with integrated dual-engine AI for image interpretation.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a disciplined, senior MERN Stack Engineer to serve as our contract Chief
Technology Officer (CTO). This is a hands-on, code-heavy role centered on the refinement
and deployment of our existing MVP. You will lead the technical execution, working
closely with our CEO and Director of AI to move from code to a working prototype on
physical hardware.
Engagement is strictly on a Milestone basis. Fully remote.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Take immediate ownership of the existing MERN stack MVP for rapid refinement
and optimization.
• Own the overall technical architecture and document key infrastructure decisions.
• Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for localized hardware
environments with limited resources.
• Refine the offline-first logic and "Hybrid" storage strategy for large medical
imaging (DICOM) files.
• Collaborate with the Director of AI on seamless model integration and local
inference workflows.
• Drive strict delivery timelines to meet our deployment milestones.
• Perform final software configuration and verification to deliver a successful first
working prototype.
CORE COMPETENCIES (REQUIRED)
• MERN Stack Mastery: Extensive professional experience with MongoDB,
Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
• Medical Imaging Knowledge: Good understanding of DICOM standards, PACS
architecture, and medical image processing.
• AI/ML Deployment: Proven experience deploying and integrating AI models
into production-ready web applications.
• Offline-First Engineering: Mastery of data synchronization strategies and localfirst persistence for low-connectivity environments.
• Performance Optimization: Ability to optimize web applications for specific
local hardware with limited CPU/RAM resources.
• Health Data Compliance: Familiarity with NDPR, HIPAA, or other international
health data regulations.
• Discipline: A "zero-excuses" approach to technical quality and delivery timelines.
ENGAGEMENT DETAILS
• Type: Fixed-Term Contract. Milestone-based.
• Location: Fully remote.
• Commitment: Scoped per milestone; requires daily availability during active
sprints.
• Compensation: Competitive; triggered by successful delivery of project
milestones.
• Final Gate: Contract completion is verified upon the successful "First Run" of the
software on our hardware hubs.
