WE ARE RECRUITING FOR OUR CLIENT IN THE OIL & GAS INDUSTRY
A leading player in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry, specializing in marine cargo inspection, quality and quantity assessment, plant evaluation, laboratory testing, and petroleum operations support, is currently expanding its operations.
Our client is also scaling its presence in petroleum trading and the development of an Energy City in Koko, Delta State, which will include a Refinery, Petroleum Depot/Storage Terminal, Lube Blending Plant, and Coastal Gas Terminal.
HIRING: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (COO)
Location: Apapa, Lagos
Work Mode: Onsite
Monthly Gross Salary: ₦1,200,000
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and manage all operational activities across downstream oil & gas operations, including logistics, engineering support, plant operations, and infrastructure development.
This role requires a strong operational leader with the ability to execute large-scale projects, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance across all business units.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence across petroleum trading activities and the development of an Energy City in Koko, Delta State.
What You Will Do
•
Lead overall operational strategy and execution across the organization
•
Oversee refinery development, depot operations, gas plant, and logistics systems
•
Manage end-to-end project execution and operational delivery timelines
•
Ensure efficiency across engineering, technical, and field operations
•
Implement operational policies, systems, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
•
Supervise cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, and support units
•
Drive operational performance, cost optimization, and productivity improvement
•
Ensure full compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards
•
Monitor project milestones and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure projects
What We Are Looking For
•
Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in operational leadership roles
•
Strong background in oil & gas, engineering, or large-scale industrial operations
•
Proven experience managing multi-site or large infrastructure projects
•
Strong knowledge of HSE standards and regulatory compliance
•
Excellent leadership, execution, and decision-making skills
•
Ability to manage complex operations in a structured environment
•
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
•
High level of discipline, structure, and operational accountability
