We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef/Nigerian Cook to prepare high-quality Nigerian and continental meals while maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene and food safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Nigerian dishes such as jollof rice, fried rice, soups, stews, swallow meals, grilled meats, and snacks.
- Plan menus and ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Purchase and manage food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor food inventory and minimize wastage.
- Supervise kitchen assistants where applicable.
- Cater for special dietary requirements and customer preferences.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a chef, cook, or food handler.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and local ingredients.
- Ability to prepare meals in large quantities when required.
- Good understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Culinary training or certification is an advantage.
