The 32-room Hotel offers tastefully furnished deluxe executive and super executive rooms as well as one- and two-bedroom luxury suites.
We Are Recruiting To Fill The Position Below
Job Title: Chef
Location: Berger, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary

  • Lead the culinary team in preparing high-quality, creative dishes that exceed guest expectations, while maintaining kitchen hygiene and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Food Preparation:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook menu items with attention to presentation, taste, and portion control.
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal menus, incorporating local and international cuisines.
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with health regulations.

Kitchen Management

  • Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste.
  • Monitor food costs, portion sizes, and maintain budget controls.

Service & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service and timely delivery.
  • Handle special requests, dietary needs, and guest feedback.
  • Maintain equipment, report repairs, and ensure safety protocols.

Creativity & Standards

  • Innovate dishes, participate in menu tastings, and uphold Hotel Capitol’s culinary standards.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a similar role, preferably in a hotel.

Skills

  • Excellent knife skills, knowledge of cooking techniques.
  • Leadership, time management, and creativity.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Physical: Ability to stand for long hours, work in a fast-paced environment
