Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare daily meals according to the CEO’s preferences, schedule and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare authentic Igbo traditional dishes, soups, stews and local delicacies to a high standard.
  • Prepare a wide variety of Nigerian meals.
  • Prepare Continental dishes and other international meal options as required.
  • Prepare basic pastries, baked items, snacks and desserts.
  • Prepare balanced, diabetes-conscious meals with attention to ingredients, sugar and carbohydrate content and portion sizes.
  • Develop varied meal plans and suggest healthy alternatives where appropriate.
  • Purchase groceries or prepare accurate lists of ingredients and kitchen supplies required.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling and preservation of food items.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene and food-safety standards.
  • Keep the kitchen, refrigerator, cooking equipment, utensils, countertops and food preparation areas exceptionally clean, organised and sparkling at all times.
  • Thoroughly clean and reset the kitchen after every cooking session.
  • Monitor food supplies and communicate replenishment needs promptly.
  • Minimise food waste and manage ingredients responsibly.
  • Prepare meals for guests or small private engagements when required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion concerning the CEO, household and all information encountered while performing the role.


Requirements:

  • Have proven experience as a Personal Chef, Private Chef, Executive Chef or in a similar professional cooking role.
  • Have excellent practical knowledge of Igbo and Nigerian cuisine.
  • Be competent in Continental cuisine.
  • Have basic to intermediate pastry and baking skills.
  • Understand healthy and diabetes-conscious cooking.
  • Have excellent food hygiene and kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Be exceptionally neat, clean and organised.
  • Be punctual and dependable, with excellent time-management skills.
  • Be respectful, discreet and professional.
  • Be calm, patient and emotionally mature.
  • Be able to receive instructions, corrections and feedback professionally.
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Be flexible enough to accommodate reasonable changes in meal preferences and schedules.
  • Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional grooming.


Remuneration: NGN 250,000 Monthly
