Job Summary

This is an on-site contract role for a Catering Manager located in a remote site for one of the biggest oil and gas companies in Nigeria. The Catering Manager will be responsible for overseeing food service, customer service, cooking, catering, housekeeping and laundry. The Catering Manager will also be responsible for managing inventory, HSE compliance etc.

  • Minimum Qualification : Diploma
  • Experience Level : Senior level
  • Experience Length : 10 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise catering and waiting staff at functions
  • Plan menus in consultation with chefs
  • Recruit and train permanent and casual staff
  • Organise, lead, and motivate the catering team
  • Plan staff shifts and rotas
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly observed
  • Budget and establish financial targets and forecasts
  • Monitor the quality of the product and service provided
  • Keep financial and administrative records
  • Manage the payroll and monitor spending levels
  • Maintain stock levels and order new supplies as required
  • Liaise with suppliers and clients
  • Ensure compliance with all fire, licensing, and employment regulations
  • Keep abreast of trends and developments in the industry, such as menus or trends in consumer tastes.


Requirements:

  • This position is only for Nationals (Nigerians)
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar or higher role
  • Diploma in Food Service, Catering, and Food & Beverage skills
  • Experience in customer service and managing staff
  • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Certification or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • HACCP trained and certified
  • HSE oriented
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage a large number of staff
  • Ability to manage large POB
