STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: First university degree in Admin-related subjects (Business Administration/Politics/Rule of Law/Finance, etc.) with qualifying relevant experience and/or training/courses accepted in lieu of the First University degree.
Experience: Five or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream with experience in general administrative work.
Knowledge & Skills:
â¢ Knowledge of specialised common business practices and methods, gained through relevant technical training and experience.
â¢ Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of individuals in order to provide a high quality support service.
â¢ Ability to carry out basic data analysis and independently rectify problems requiring attention.

Language: General Service (Headquarters): Fluency (level C) in English language. Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official language may be required depending on the location of the post or area of responsibility.
General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty stationâs language, if different.
These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). Job holders performing front office management functions typically report to the Deputy Directors or Head of Offices. In cases where these positions support a specific business stream, the reporting line may be to the Head of Unit, Chief, or the designate.
At this level job holders are expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of business support activities requiring some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices. Job holders are able to recommend a course of action to staff at various levels and may allocate tasks to more junior colleagues.
To deliver a wide range of business support processes and activities for a specific professional area of work, to facilitate effective service delivery.Â

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
A minimum of 5 years relevant administrative support experience is required in the following:
â¢ Has supported Administrative and operational activities that maintain operations functions and feed into overall strategic aims.
â¢ Has collated data, assisted in organizing Training, Conferences, workshops, and drafting reports that inform Administrative and operations activities. Must be computer literate
â¢ Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage.
â¢ Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
â¢ Experience in using tact and courtesy to Communicate with a wide range of individuals (internal and external).
â¢ Has good experience in managing flow of confidential information.
