Business Manager
Job summary
We are seeking a highly capable and strategic Business Manager to lead and optimize its portfolio of revenue-generating units. Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Leadership:
- Provide vision, strategic direction, and leadership for all business units and commercial initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor business plans, operational processes, and performance benchmarks.
- Ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement across all business functions.
Financial Oversight & Performance Management:
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for all business units.
- Track performance metrics, monitor KPIs, and recommend corrective actions to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and risk management frameworks.
Business Development & Stakeholder Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and drive new business opportunities aligned with the university’s mission and commercial objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
- Represent the university’s business interests in commercial negotiations, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams across multiple business ventures.
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and innovation.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment between business units and university leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field.
- An MBA or other postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in business operations, commercial management, or enterprise development.
- Experience in multi-sector, institutional, or education-related organizations is an advantage.
- Proven expertise in strategic planning, financial oversight, operational execution, and team leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
