Job summary
The role involves contributing to opportunity identification, proposal and concept note development, bid coordination, donor and client research, and effective grants management. Responsibilities:
- Identify and track relevant grants, tenders, consultancy opportunities, requests for proposals, and expressions of interest.
- Conduct research on potential donors, development partners, clients, and business opportunities.
- Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of funding and business development opportunities.
- Support the preparation of concept notes, expressions of interest, technical proposals, and grant applications.
- Coordinate proposal development processes, ensuring alignment with timelines, inputs, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing capability statements, organizational profiles, and other essential business development materials.
- Aid in developing partnerships and identifying potential consortium and implementation partners.
- Monitor procurement portals, donor platforms, and other relevant sources for new opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of submitted proposals, opportunities, outcomes, and upcoming deadlines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, International Development, Communications, or a related field. A master’s degree is desirable.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in grants, business development, proposal development, fundraising, consultancy, or project management.
- Experience developing proposals, concept notes, expressions of interest, or grant applications.
- Strong understanding of donor-funded projects and the international development sector.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
- Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with international development donors, NGOs, consulting firms, or government contracting is an advantage.
