Business Development Officer
Job summary
Lextorah School of Languages is looking for a Business Development Officer to drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, generating leads, and converting prospects into paying customers.

Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across relevant markets.
- Generate, qualify, and manage leads from different channels.
- Develop relationships with prospective and existing corporate clients, schools, organisations, and individual customers.
- Conduct outreach through calls, emails, WhatsApp, networking, and other appropriate channels.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and move leads through the sales pipeline.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and presentations where required.
- Coordinate meetings and consultations with prospective clients.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, follow-ups, and conversions using the company's CRM or other approved tools.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Admissions, and Operations teams to support lead conversion and customer retention.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of potential clients and partners.
- Meet agreed monthly and quarterly business development and revenue targets.
- Prepare regular reports on lead generation, conversion, pipeline activity, and business development performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sales, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or a similar commercial role.
- Demonstrated experience in lead generation and sales conversion.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to confidently engage prospective clients and present products or services.
- Strong follow-up and organisational skills.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, spreadsheets, email, WhatsApp, and other digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Target-driven and commercially aware.
- Experience in education, training, language services, EdTech, or professional services is an advantage.
- The successful candidate must reside in Yaba or its immediate environs and be able to commute reliably to the office.
