Job summary
The business development & market access manager will lead Nigeria-based delivery of ETK’s commercial acceleration, market development, and client management with a specific mandate for business research and data in line with specific client needs, with Nigeria designated as the priority market. The role is responsible for driving market access, pipeline development, and stakeholder engagement across the Oil & Gas, Extractives, Solid Minerals, Renewable Energy, Financial Service, Agriculture and Heritage/Film sectors. Working closely with ETK leadership and commercial and technical teams, the role will ensure that agreed activities translate into qualified leads, executive-level conversations, and sustained engagement momentum. This is a hands-on, execution-focused, client-facing role, operating between strategy and delivery, with responsibility for managing workstreams, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking progress against agreed KPIs.

- Identify, prioritise, and manage high-value private-sector target accounts in Nigeria across target sectors including oil & gas, extractives and solid minerals, heritage, archives, and film-related institutions, renewable energy, financial services and agriculture
- Support persona-led outreach aligned to regulatory timelines, asset transitions, and data-modernisation needs.
- Maintain a structured and prioritised commercial pipeline, with a strong emphasis on Nigeria-based opportunities.
- Progress qualified engagements from initial contact to executive-level conversations in line with agreed milestones.
- Act as the day-to-day delivery interface for ongoing project engagements on Nigeria-related activities.
- Engage Nigerian regulators, government ministries and agencies, industry bodies, chambers of commerce, and ecosystem partners to facilitate access and introductions.
- Coordinate executive-level introductions between the client's/partner's organisation leadership and senior decision-makers.
- Represent ETK and its clients professionally in high-level meetings and curated engagements.
- Lead in the development of business proposals and responses to RFP’s on business opportunities within target sectors.
- Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the target market, ensuring attainment with company sales and profitability objectives.
- Create and conduct proposal presentations at high-level engagements with prospects and RFP responses.
- Drive market monitoring and track global business trends to identify potential business opportunities.
- Support representation at flagship oil and gas and extractive events in Nigeria.
- Capture, qualify, and prioritise event-generated leads based on strategic fit and commercial readiness.
- Ensure timely and structured post-event follow-up to convert contacts into qualified opportunities.
- Support targeted outreach and engagement activities in Ghana and Angola in coordination with ETK leadership.
- Assist with lead qualification, meeting coordination, and reporting for regional markets.
- Coordinate with regional associates to ensure regional activities align with overall pipeline and KPI targets.
- Coordinate delivery across the three agreed workstreams: private-sector lead development, event representation, Institutional and regulatory penetration
- Track performance against KPIs, including: An agreed number of qualified private-sector leads per month, Event-sourced leads per month (subject to event calendar), Institutional or regulatory introduction per month
- Produce clear monthly activity summaries and progress reports.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and delivery constraints, escalating where required.
- The role facilitates market access, introductions, and engagement progression.
- Responsibility for technical scoping, commercial negotiation, and contract closure remains with clients, in line with the Statement of Work.
- Success is measured by pipeline quality, velocity, and stakeholder access, not closed revenue.
- Strong business development and pipeline coordination capability
- 5–7 years’ experience in business development support, market access, consulting, or professional services delivery
- Nigeria-based, with demonstrable experience operating in Nigerian commercial or institutional settings
- Proven experience supporting senior-level engagements and structured client mandates
- Exposure to Africa-focused or multi-country projects
- Confident client-facing communication with senior stakeholders
- Stakeholder mapping and relationship management
- High level of organisation, follow-through, and execution discipline
- Clear written and verbal reporting skills
- Deep familiarity with Nigeria’s Oil & Gas, extractives, renewable energy or regulated enterprise environments
- Comfort engaging with Nigerian regulators, MDAs, and industry bodies
- Strong understanding of how commercial and institutional decisions are made in Nigeria
- Existing relationships within Nigeria’s Oil & gas, extractives, renewable energy, financial services or infrastructure ecosystems.
- Experience supporting international firms entering or expanding in Nigeria
- Exposure to Ghana or Angola markets
- Event representation or industry conference experience
- Strong local credibility and professional presence in Nigeria
- Ability to convert introductions into sustained engagement momentum
- Consistent tracking and reporting against KPIs
- High responsiveness to client and stakeholder needs
- Strong partnership skills and ability to identify business opportunities.
