Business Development Manager - Diagnostic & Laboratory Services

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of annual business plans, strategic plans, sales forecasts, and operational work plans.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within public, private, academic, research, donor-funded, and corporate healthcare sectors.
Expand presence across Nigeria and other target markets through effective market penetration strategies.
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with laboratories, hospitals, research institutions, government agencies, professional associations, non-governmental organizations, and development partners.
Drive sales and marketing activities for laboratory quality control panels, culture media, diagnostic reagents, proficiency testing services, and related products.
Lead proposal development, bid preparation, contract negotiations, and strategic business presentations.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate business development, marketing, and support staff to ensure optimal performance.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor staff productivity and achievement of business targets.
Coordinate digital marketing initiatives, branding activities, social media engagement, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor sales performance and prepare periodic business performance reports for management.
Represent business at conferences, exhibitions, stakeholder meetings, scientific events, and business forums.
Ensure alignment of business development activities with the company's mission, strategic vision, and growth objectives.
Support the Managing Director and Executive Management Team in strategic decision-making and organizational development.
Frequent travel within Nigeria and occasionally outside Nigeria may be required.
Qualifications and Experience:
B.Sc in Business Administration, Marketing, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Health Management, or a related field.
Master's Degree (MBA), Marketing, Public Health, Health Economics, Health Management, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
7 years of relevant professional experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, marketing, strategic planning, or healthcare-related business management.
Experience in laboratory diagnostics, healthcare products, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, laboratory quality assurance services, or related sectors will be a strong advantage.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets, revenue growth, and market expansion.
