Business Development Executive
Job summary
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for Gilt Stay, increasing bookings and revenue, building strategic relationships, and expanding the property's customer and corporate client base. The role will focus on promoting Gilt Stay's apartments, spa, rooftop lounge, restaurant and other hospitality offerings to individuals, corporate organisations, travel agencies, event planners, relocation companies and other potential partners. The ideal candidate should be confident, commercially minded, proactive and comfortable with sales, networking, client engagement and relationship management.

Responsibilities:
Business Development & Lead Generation:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Gilt Stay's accommodation, lounge, restaurant and spa services.
- Research potential corporate clients, organisations, travel agencies, relocation companies, event planners, wellness companies and other relevant businesses.
- Develop and maintain a database of prospective and existing clients.
- Make calls, send emails, conduct visits and use other appropriate channels to generate leads.
- Follow up consistently with prospective clients and convert qualified leads into bookings or partnerships.
- Develop new channels for generating apartment, lounge, restaurant and spa business.
Corporate Sales & Partnerships:
- Build relationships with companies that require accommodation for staff, executives, consultants, visitors and business travellers.
- Identify organisations that may require corporate wellness, spa or relaxation packages for employees and executives.
- Develop corporate accommodation and wellness partnerships where approved by Management.
- Establish relationships with travel agencies, corporate travel managers, relocation companies, event planners and relevant wellness partners.
- Identify partnership opportunities that can generate recurring business for Gilt Stay.
Apartment Sales & Bookings:
- Actively promote Gilt Stay's serviced apartments to potential guests and business clients.
- Respond to and follow up on qualified sales enquiries.
- Communicate apartment options, rates, availability and relevant policies accurately.
- Work closely with Front Office and Operations to ensure a smooth transition from sales enquiry to confirmed booking.
- Follow up with past guests and clients to encourage repeat bookings and referrals.
- Track leads from initial enquiry through conversion.
Travel Agent & Referral Network Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with travel agents and booking partners.
- Develop a network of agents who can consistently refer guests to Gilt Stay.
- Communicate approved commission structures and booking procedures to agents.
- Follow up with active and inactive agents to maintain engagement.
- Monitor the performance of referral and agent channels and provide reports to management.
Lounge, Restaurant & Event Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to attract external customers to Gilt Stay's lounge and restaurant.
- Develop relationships with event planners, companies, social groups and organisations for private events, meetings, celebrations and other activities.
- Promote the lounge for suitable corporate and social events.
- Identify opportunities for group bookings, corporate gatherings, game nights and other events.
- Work with the Lounge Manager and Management to develop commercial opportunities.
Spa Business Development:
- Promote Gilt Stay's spa services to apartment guests, external customers, corporate clients and relevant partners.
- Develop partnerships with companies, wellness organisations, hotels, travel agencies and lifestyle businesses that can generate spa referrals.
- Identify opportunities for corporate wellness packages, couples' packages, group bookings and other approved spa promotions.
- Encourage cross-selling between the apartments, spa, lounge and restaurant.
- Maintain relationships with existing spa clients and referral partners.
- Monitor spa-related leads and bookings generated through business development activities.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain professional relationships with existing clients and partners.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to understand client needs and identify opportunities for additional business.
- Keep accurate records of client interactions, enquiries, proposals and agreements.
- Gather client feedback and communicate relevant feedback to Management.
- Ensure clients receive timely responses and professional service throughout the sales process.
Sales Strategy & Market Development:
- Monitor the local hospitality and shortlet market and identify emerging business opportunities.
- Research competitor offerings, corporate accommodation trends, pricing and customer preferences.
- Recommend practical sales initiatives to increase occupancy and revenue.
- Identify new customer segments and business channels for Gilt Stay.
- Support promotional campaigns and sales initiatives developed by Management.
Networking & Business Representation:
- Represent Gilt Stay professionally at relevant business meetings, networking events, hospitality events and industry gatherings.
- Build relationships with professionals and organisations that can generate business for the property.
- Schedule and conduct client visits and property tours when required.
- Present Gilt Stay's accommodation, lounge, restaurant, spa and hospitality offerings professionally.
Sales Reporting & Documentation:
- Daily/weekly sales activities.
- Leads generated.
- Leads converted.
- Client and partner contacts.
- Bookings generated through business development activities.
- Corporate accounts acquired.
- Agent/referral partnerships.
- Follow-up activities.
- Revenue generated from acquired clients and partnerships.
- Outstanding leads and next actions.
- Client retention and repeat business.
Requirements:
- HND or equivalent qualification in business administration, marketing, hospitality management, sales, or a related field.
- 2–3 years' experience in business development, sales, hospitality, real estate, travel, corporate sales or a related field.
- Previous experience in hotels, serviced apartments, shortlets, travel or hospitality sales will be an advantage.
- Proven ability to generate leads and develop client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of sales and customer relationship management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed targets.
