Back-End Developer

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side applications and systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code using programming languages such as Python, PHP, Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
• Create, manage, and optimize databases using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other database technologies.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data protection measures.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve server-side issues and application errors.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and other team members to deliver functional web applications.
• Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and external APIs where required.
• Conduct testing to ensure application functionality, security, and reliability.
• Manage code repositories and version control using Git and platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on servers or cloud platforms.
• Document technical processes, system architecture, and application updates.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, HND, or relevant certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  
• Proven experience as a Back-End Developer or in a similar software development role.
  
• Proficiency in at least one back-end programming language, such as Python, PHP, Java, or JavaScript with Node.js.
  
• Strong knowledge of database design, management, and optimization.
  
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, cybersecurity, and data protection principles.
  
• Familiarity with Git, version control, testing, and debugging tools.
  
• Knowledge of server management, deployment processes, and cloud platforms is an advantage.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  
• A portfolio of completed projects or relevant practical experience is an added advantage.
