AWS Architect, Trilogy (Remote) - $100,000/year USD

Job descriptions & requirements

You're the engineer who sustains 50+ SaaS products when ambiguity is the norm. We need DevOps professionals capable of stepping into unknown AWS environments, restoring stability, and driving uptime beyond 99.9% through genuine monitoring, automation, and rigorous root-cause analysis. You'll break down complex projects into daily deliverables, deploy production-ready Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as an assistant.
Many organizations claim "cloud expertise" while manually tending infrastructure. We're systematizing reliability across a portfolio of acquired products where original developers are long gone and documentation is incomplete. The challenge: you'll employ AI agents and contemporary tooling to explore unfamiliar systems 5–10x faster, document your findings, and automate solutions so failures don't recur. Rather than judging you on certifications and vendor badges, we'll observe how you troubleshoot in real time, author a genuine 5-Whys that identifies one preventable root cause, and construct automations resilient enough for production.
This is not a tier-two "follow the script" position. Here, you author the scripts, architect the deployment path from development through staged rollout to 10% canary to full release with soak periods and rollback conditions, and implement the monitoring that surfaces edge-case failures. You reject risky changes before execution. You distinguish infrastructure failures under your ownership from application bugs that Engineering must resolve, and you route permanent remediation to the appropriate team.
You'll operate at the engineering heart of reliability, taking ownership of infrastructure initiatives, incident triage and root-cause documentation, and change execution with copy-paste-ready runbooks. If you've already owned a substantial SaaS platform and want to apply that rigor across a fleet, join us. Bring expert-grade AWS knowledge, production-quality coding ability, strict scope discipline, and daily, mission-critical use of AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain operational continuity, please apply.
What You Will Be Doing

  • Executing intricate infrastructure migrations, consolidations, production-quality automations, and monitoring enhancements
  • Diagnosing production incidents, deploying immediate remediation, and authoring root-cause analyses with permanent remediation assigned to accountable teams
  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing production changes, including assessing whether a proposed change is safe for execution

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Spending time in Jira and interminable status syncs - we reward engineers who deliver solutions, not simply document issues
  • Sustaining legacy systems without improvement - you'll be empowered to pursue meaningful enhancements
  • Waiting for bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate fixes during incidents

AWS Architect Key Responsibilities

  • Advance reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by deploying comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Basic Requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Experience owning large production infrastructure and troubleshooting production outages independently (not just following a runbook)
  • Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
