Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Examine financial records, accounts, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct internal or external audits in line with applicable standards and procedures.
- Assess the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
- Identify financial discrepancies, irregularities, and potential cases of fraud.
- Verify compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review financial statements, transactions, and accounting procedures.
- Prepare audit reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Verify that financial transactions are properly authorised and documented.
- Maintain accurate records of audit procedures, evidence, and findings.
- Follow up on corrective actions arising from previous audits.
Requirements
- HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus).
- 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on lending and payment systems.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ICAN, CPA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, especially in fintech and lending.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and accounting tools.
- Experience with loan reconciliation, payment gateway accounting, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fintech environment and handle multiple responsibilities.
Remuneration: NGN 150,000 - 250,000 monthly
