Job Description
- Work in coordination with the Civic Space team to initiate and ensure implementation of all the organization's AML/ CFT advocacy projects designed to strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders like governments, law enforcement agencies, financial institutions and non-profit organizations to enforce anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism regulations and measures without negatively affecting the civic space.
- Lead research initiatives and the implementation of programmes at the state, national and regional levels related to countering money laundering, illicit financial flows, and organised crime with the aim to influence positive reforms and maximize the impact of S4C's technical assistance.
- Keep abreast of developments in Nigeria and West Africa subregion as they relate to the issues of countering money laundering, illicit financial flows and organized crime with the view to seek opportunities for complementing project work with broader interventions, where relevant and feasible.
- Review existing AML/CFT, law enforcement, crime prevention and related technical capacity programs in Nigeria and West Africa, assess technical assistance needs and training requirements of government institutions and recommend actions to meet needs.
- Establish and maintain solid partnerships, undertake negotiations and consultations and liaise on substantive issues with a variety of AML/CFT actors, donors, international organizations governments, the private sector and other stakeholders.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2.1. Bachelors’ degree plus four years relevant experience in fields at intersection of law, public administration, international development, economics, human rights,etc..
- Excellent writing, research and communication skills. Research capability is a MUST. Evidence of past research efforts must be provided.
- Very strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple simultaneous projects and initiatives
