Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Human Resources Manager, located in Ondo State. The Admin & HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resource and administrative functions within the manufacturing facility. The role ensures workforce efficiency, regulatory compliance and alignment of people strategy with production and operational goals.
The Human Resources Manager will oversee daily HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management and policy enforcement. This role entails developing HR strategies, managing employee onboarding processes, conducting training programs and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Additionally, the individual will play a key role in fostering a positive work environment that promotes employee engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Human Resource Management
- Lead end-to-end recruitment
- Manage onboarding, confirmation and exit processes
- Implement performance management systems aligned to operations KPIs
- Develop workforce plans to support production targets and shift structures
- Handle employee relations, grievances and disciplinary processes
- Maintain HRIS records and employee data integrity
2. Industrial & Employee Relations
- Serve as primary liaison between management and workforce
- Interpret and enforce labour laws and internal policies
- Lead investigations on misconduct and workplace issues
- Drive engagement initiatives to reduce attrition and absenteeism
3. Payroll & Compensation
- Supervise payroll preparation
- Ensure statutory compliance (PAYE, pension, NSITF, NHF, etc.)
- Monitor wage structures against industry benchmarks
- Manage benefits administration (HMO, insurance, welfare)
4. Learning & Development
- Identify training needs for technical and non-technical staff
- Coordinate safety training and compliance programs
- Support supervisors with people management capability
- Track training ROI in relation to productivity improvements
5. Administrative Management
- Oversee facility management
- Manage vendor relationships
- Supervise fleet/logistics coordination
- Ensure availability of office and operational supplies
- Maintain asset register and administrative controls
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards
- Coordinate safety audits, drills and incident reporting
- Maintain regulatory compliance
7. Workforce Planning & Operations Support
- Align manpower planning with operations
- Monitor attendance and timekeeping systems
- Analyse workforce productivity metrics
- Support operational efficiency initiatives
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 7-8 years HR/Admin experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Experience with Organizational Development and Change Management
- Strong knowledge of Employee Relations, Workforce Planning and Talent Acquisition
- Proficiency in HR Policy Development, Compliance and Strategic HR Management
- Skills in Performance Management, Training and Development
- Experience with Organizational Development and Change Management
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency with HR software tools and technologies
- Thorough understanding of labor laws and HR best practices
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPM) is a plus
