Accountant
Job summary
We are seeking a competent and efficient Accountant to take full responsibility for the organization's day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will independently manage accounting records, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and financial discipline across the business.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records, including general ledger, journals, and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to management.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, and follow-ups.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure cash and bank balances are accurate at all times.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budget performance, flagging variances and risks early.
- Prepare payroll records and ensure accurate computation of statutory deductions (PAYE, pension, etc.).
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping for audit and regulatory purposes.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies, and basic regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with management, auditors, and external consultants on financial matters when required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of hands-on accounting experience with end-to-end responsibility.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. High level of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
- ICAN/ACCA (part qualification or student membership) is an added advantage.
