We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a reputable organisation operating within the retail and pharmacy sector
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping & Bookkeeping: Documenting daily business transactions, sales, expenses, and maintaining general ledgers.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing core financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss (Income) Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
- Accounts Receivable and Payable (AR/AP): Tracking customer invoices and money owed to the business (AR), as well as verifying vendor bills and managing payments (AP).
- Payroll Processing: Calculating employee wages, managing tax withholdings, and administering benefits.
- Tax Preparation & Compliance: Computing tax liabilities, filing corporate or individual tax returns, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws (such as GAAP or IFRS).
- Auditing & Internal Controls: Conducting internal audits, reviewing records for discrepancies or fraud, and working with external auditors.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Advisory: Analyzing financial data to create budgets, forecast cash flows, and advise management on cost reduction, profitability, and investments.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in FMCG, retail or pharmacy-related businesses is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage financial records and meet deadlines.
