Accountant
Job summary
We are seeking a detail oriented and trustworthy Accountant to manage the financial records and transactions of the church in Surulere. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, managing budgets, processing payments, and ensuring accountability and transparency in the church finance.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports
- Process payments, reimbursements, and payroll
- Reconcile bank statements and church accounts
- Monitor budgets and track expenditures
- Manage tithes, offerings, donations, and other church income
- Maintain proper records of church assets and financial documents
- Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies
- Prepare financial reports for church leadership and management meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–4 years accounting experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and account reconciliation
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Experience in a church, NGO, or non-profit organization is an added advantage
