Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Lead cashflow management, runway tracking, burn rate monitoring, and financial forecasting
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statements)
- Produce comprehensive management accounts and performance analysis reports
- Drive annual budgeting cycles, variance analysis, and scenario modelling
- Ensure full tax compliance (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT) and implement tax optimisation strategies
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and enforce robust internal control systems
- Oversee revenue recognition for SaaS, subscription models, usage-based billing, and deferred revenue
- Reconcile high-volume digital transactions, including payment gateway settlements (Paystack, Stripe), FX exposure, and trade reconciliation
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting or finance management
- Advanced financial modelling capability in *Excel or Google Sheets*
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting systems
- Strong working knowledge of digital payment ecosystems and reconciliation frameworks
- Experience operating within a tech, fintech, or high-growth startup environment preferred
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- High integrity and strict confidentiality
- Exceptional analytical and numerical accuracy
- Strong attention to detail with execution speed
- Clear communication of financial data to executive and non-finance stakeholders
- Ability to operate independently within a full-time structure
