Job summary

A reputable organization in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Account Assistant to support its finance and accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the accounts department.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, receipts, and other accounting documents.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial records and supporting documents.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Process petty cash transactions and expense reports.
  • Support payroll preparation where required.
  • Assist during internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.


Requirements:

  • OND or HND in Accounting, Finance, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems) is an added advantage.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
