Abattoir Supervisor
Job summary
The Abattoir Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in the FCT responsible for overseeing day-to-day livestock processing operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality. The supervisor will work directly with the abattoir manager alongside 2 other supervisors.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise abattoir staff, coordinating daily slaughter and processing schedules, and monitoring compliance with food safety, hygiene, animal welfare, and regulatory standards.
- The Abattoir Supervisor will inspect equipment and facilities, ensure proper cleaning and maintenance
- Verify that standard operating procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintaining accurate production records, managing inventory of supplies, and collaborating with farm management, logistics, and sales teams to meet output and delivery targets.
- The supervisor will also train team members, promote a safe working environment, and support continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of abattoir operations, including slaughter processes, carcass handling, and meat quality standards.
- Experience applying food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices, with familiarity with HACCP or similar quality systems.
- Proven people management skills, including supervising shifts, assigning tasks, and coaching team members.
- Ability to monitor and enforce animal welfare standards and relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Solid organizational and record-keeping skills, including production tracking, inventory control, and reporting.
- Capacity to identify operational issues, troubleshoot equipment or process problems, and recommend improvements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional farm and processing teams.
- Physical ability to work in abattoir conditions, including standing for extended periods and handling equipment safely.
- Previous experience in meat processing and abattoir-related work is a critical requirement.
- Relevant vocational training, technical certification, or higher education in agriculture, animal science, food technology, or a related field is an advantage.

Remuneration: NGN 250,000 - 300,000
