Job summary
Workshop Supervisor Supervise daily workshop operations at Auto Plaza, Abuja. Manage mechanics & technicians, assign jobs, ensure quality repairs, safety, and on-time delivery. Handle diagnostics, inventory, reporting, and customer escalations. Report to MD. Strong leadership + technical skills required.

Responsibilities:
Team & Workflow Management:
- Supervise daily activities of mechanics, technicians, and support staff
- Assign jobs based on each mechanic’s strength and skill set
- Create daily duty roster and ensure proper manpower coverage
- Ensure smooth workflow to avoid idleness and delays in the workshop
- Conduct daily morning huddle with MD to align on vehicles scheduled to go out and coordinate new vehicles coming into the workshop every day
Technical & Quality Control:
- Assist assigned mechanics with vehicle diagnosis
- Be directly involved in complex diagnostics with the technician
- Ensure all repairs and diagnostics meet manufacturer and company standards
- Conduct final quality checks and road tests before vehicle release
- Sign off all job cards completed by mechanics and service advisors before release
Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure all pre and post-checks on job cards are done and properly ticked by Service Advisors with a qualified technician
- Enforce workshop safety, cleanliness, 5S, and PPE compliance
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of workshop tools and equipment
- Schedule preventive maintenance for all workshop equipment
Inventory, Cost & Reporting:
- Manage workshop tools, equipment, and inventory of spare parts/consumables
- Minimize wastage and ensure correct parts are used for each job
- Prepare cost estimates and submit daily/weekly progress reports to management
- Track technician productivity, turnaround time, and first-time-fix rate
Customer & Training:
- Liaise with Service Advisors on customer complaints, job updates, and technical issues
- Handle technical customer escalations professionally
- Train and mentor junior technicians
- Conduct weekly toolbox talks on safety and technical topics
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of a BSC
- 1 year of previous experience in a similar role
