Workshop Management Intern
Job summary
The Workshop Management Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the workshop with a primary focus on parts inventory management, workflow coordination, and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on exposure to workshop operations, supply chain management, and automotive business systems.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
Parts and Inventory Management:
- Track all incoming and outgoing parts
- Maintain updated inventory records (manual and digital)
- Monitor stock levels and flag low inventory
- Assist with supplier coordination and restocking
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of parts
Workshop Operations:
- Support job card tracking and workflow coordination
- Ensure mechanics have the required parts before repairs begin
- Monitor turnaround time and report delays
- Assist in quality control checks before vehicle delivery
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain organized records of parts usage and purchases
- Prepare simple weekly inventory and operations reports
- Support cost tracking and waste reduction initiatives
General Support:
- Assist with daily workshop coordination
- Support customer updates when required
- Handle other operational tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Currently studying or recently graduated (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred)
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Basic Excel or Google Sheets knowledge
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Interest in automotive operations is a strong advantage
