Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage and oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations in alignment with company policies and objectives.
- Supervise and coordinate receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse layouts and ensure optimal use of space.
- Establish, coordinate, and enforce operational policies and procedures for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all warehousing, handling, and shipping regulations and standards.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security within the warehouse environment.
- Manage inventory control, including stock counts, reconciliation, and accurate data entry into warehouse management systems.
- Prepare and manage annual warehouse budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and logistics partners to coordinate delivery and distribution schedules.
- Plan and manage staff rotas, task assignments, and performance appraisals.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate warehouse staff to foster a productive work environment.
- Monitor and produce regular performance and inventory reports (e.g., in/out reports, stock status, dead stock reports, etc.).
- Evaluate feedback and continuously monitor the quality and efficiency of services provided.
Requirements:
- HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a warehouse manager or in a similar logistics leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management procedures and best practices.
- Strong understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or related inventory software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
