About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee the safe and efficient operation of warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, and dispatch. The role involves supervising warehouse personnel, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating daily operations, and working closely with project teams, procurement, and suppliers to address material requirements, discrepancies, and operational issues.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years’ warehouse management experience, including offshore oil and gas logistics and warehousing, strong inventory and WMS capability, and proven leadership and team management experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and schedule warehouse associates.
- Delegate daily tasks and monitor performance to meet productivity targets.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels.
- Conduct cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Shipping & Receiving
- Oversee the accurate loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing freight.
- Coordinate the staging of incoming and outgoing freight.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety regulations and conduct facility inspections.
- Monitor team compliance with OSHA and company guidelines.
Equipment Maintenance
- Oversee the proper maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Promote the safe operation of warehouse equipment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Progressive experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Minimum of 10 years’ warehouse management experience, including experience in offshore oil and gas logistics operations and warehousing.
Required Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Equipment Proficiency: Competence in using specialized measurement tools, including micrometers and gauges, and testing apparatus.
- Communication: Ability to clearly report failures or defects to project managers, procurement, and supplier teams.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to recording batch numbers, serial numbers, and test results accurately and clearly.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with WMS software, inventory databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift or move heavy objects.
