Role Description This is an on-site volunteer role based in Abuja with Great Achievers Social Development Initiative (GASDI). Volunteers will support program implementation in areas such as community development, climate action, education, humanitarian outreach, and youth and women empowerment. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with community meetings, helping coordinate workshops and trainings, supporting field activities, collecting basic data and feedback from beneficiaries, and contributing to awareness campaigns. Volunteers may also help with documentation, simple report writing, social media updates, and logistical support for events and outreach activities. The role involves working closely with GASDI staff, community members, and other volunteers to advance ongoing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and work respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Interest in community development, sustainable development, climate action, education, or humanitarian work.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and willingness to learn and follow organizational guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams, support group activities, and contribute to problem-solving.
  • Basic organizational skills, including time management, record-keeping, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with using email, basic office tools, and, where relevant, social media for outreach and communication.
  • Respect for diversity and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive practices in all interactions.
  • Previous volunteering or community engagement experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Relevant education or training in social sciences, environmental studies, development studies, education, public health, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Availability to volunteer on-site in Abuja as agreed with GASDI, including occasional weekends or special events when needed.
