Job summary
The Upholsterer is responsible for repairing, replacing, and creating upholstery for furniture, vehicles, and other items using fabrics, leather, foam, and other materials. The role requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to restore or enhance the appearance and comfort of furniture.

Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace upholstery on furniture such as chairs, sofas, and cushions
- Measure, cut, and fit fabrics, leather, and padding materials
- Remove old upholstery and prepare surfaces for new covering
- Install springs, foam, webbing, and other cushioning materials
- Operate upholstery tools and sewing machines
- Ensure neat finishing and high-quality workmanship
- Interpret customer requirements and design specifications
- Maintain upholstery tools and equipment properly
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Perform minor furniture repairs when necessary
Requirements:
- Vocational training or apprenticeship in Upholstery or Furniture Making
- Proven experience as an upholsterer or furniture technician
- Good knowledge of upholstery materials and techniques
- Skilled in using upholstery tools and sewing machines
- Attention to detail and good craftsmanship
- Physical stamina and the ability to work with manual tools
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Good communication and customer service skills
