UI/UX Designer
Job summary
Kenkeputa seeks a young, creative UI/UX Designer to design intuitive web and mobile experiences. You'll collaborate with product managers and developers to create user-centered solutions, conduct research, develop wireframes and prototypes, and contribute to product and graphic design initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Design user interfaces, wireframes, user flows, storyboards, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile applications.
- Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis to understand user needs and business objectives.
- Perform usability testing, A/B testing, and user feedback analysis to improve product experiences.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-focused solutions.
- Contribute to product strategy discussions by providing design insights and recommendations.
- Create, maintain, and evolve design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency across products.
- Design responsive experiences for Android, iOS, and web platforms.
- Produce visual assets and graphics to support product interfaces, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives where required.
- Ensure designs meet accessibility and usability standards.
- Stay informed on emerging UI/UX, product design, and digital design trends, tools, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field with a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1).
- 2+ years of experience in UI/UX Design, Product Design, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in Product Design, including end-to-end design processes from research to implementation.
- Exposure to or experience working closely with Product Management teams and product development lifecycles.
- Experience in Graphic Design, including creating digital assets, visual content, and brand-related materials.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, and responsive design.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to facilitate collaboration with engineering teams.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems and style guides.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).
- Familiarity with usability testing tools and methodologies such as Maze, UserTesting, Hotjar, or similar.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Close attention to detail with a commitment to delivering polished, pixel-perfect designs.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX, product design, and visual design projects.
- 24 years or younger.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in fast-paced startup or technology environments.

Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum product development methodologies.

Experience collaborating directly with software engineering and product teams.

Knowledge of motion design, micro-interactions, or prototyping tools is an added advantage.
