Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Operate company trucks safely and responsibly.
- Transport containers, cargo, and goods to designated locations within scheduled timelines.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck.
- Ensure proper securing and handling of cargo before movement.
- Maintain accurate trip, delivery, fuel, and vehicle records.
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, delays, or incidents immediately to the Fleet Manager.
- Follow assigned routes and instructions from the Operations/Fleet team.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the assigned truck.
- Comply with traffic laws, port regulations, and company safety procedures.
- Assist with container pick-up and delivery procedures, including proper documentation and verification of container numbers.
- Ensure all relevant delivery documents are properly signed and returned.
- Monitor fuel usage and report any unusual consumption.
- Carry out routine checks on tyres, brakes, lights, engine oil, coolant, and other critical components.
- Avoid unauthorized use of company vehicles.
- Demonstrate professionalism and courteous conduct when dealing with customers, terminal personnel, shipping lines, and other road users.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
