Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate feed delivery: Schedule bulk or bagged feed deliveries from mills to the farm storage bins.
- Manage chick transport: Oversee the careful, climate-controlled transport of fragile day-old chicks from hatcheries to the brooding houses.
- Handle medication and equipment: Ensure vaccines, veterinary drugs, and replacement parts arrive safely and on schedule.
- Plan egg distribution: Schedule fragile cargo deliveries of table eggs to wholesalers, retailers, or packing centers without breakage.
- Manage live or processed bird shipping: Coordinate refrigerated trucks or coops to transport broilers/layers to processing plants or live markets promptly.
- Optimize delivery routes: Map out efficient multi-drop routes to lower fuel costs and ensure freshness.
- Maintain vehicles: Inspect farm trucks, monitor fuel consumption, and schedule routine maintenance or repairs.
- Track stock levels: Monitor packaging materials, feed stock, and outgoing inventory records using management logs.
- Ensure biosecurity compliance: Enforce strict sanitation and disinfection protocols on all transport vehicles entering or leaving the farm premises to prevent disease spread.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience
- A minimum of an OND in a related field
