Telesales Representative
Job summary
The Tele-Sales Representative(POS Acquisition and Merchant Engagement) will be responsible for engaging prospective and existing merchants via telephone to drive POS terminal acquisition, confirm deployment readiness, and support merchant onboarding activities. The role requires proactive customer engagement, lead qualification, relationship management, and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:
Merchant Acquisition & Sales:
- Contact assigned leads and prospective merchants to introduce POS solutions and promote adoption.
- Educate merchants on the benefits, features, and value proposition of the POS terminal offering.
- Qualify leads based on business needs, transaction potential, and deployment readiness
- Secure merchant interest and obtain consent for onboarding and terminal deployment.
- Achieve assigned daily, weekly, and monthly sales and conversion targets.
Merchant Engagement & Follow-Up:
- Conduct outbound calls to merchants identified through acquisition campaigns and internal databases.
- Follow up on pending requests, incomplete applications, and deployment schedules.
- Address merchant inquiries and escalate complex issues where necessary.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with merchants throughout the onboarding process. Deployment Readiness Verification
- Confirm merchant awareness of terminal requests and validate interest before deployment.
- Verify business information and availability for terminal installation or delivery.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete before transitioning merchants to onboarding. Data Management & Reporting
- Accurately document call outcomes, customer feedback, and engagement status in designated tracking tools.
- Maintain up-to-date records of merchant interactions and sales activities.
- Provide daily and weekly performance reports to the Team Lead.
- Identify common customer concerns and recommend process improvements.
Customer Retention Support:
- Engage inactive or underperforming merchants to understand challenges affecting terminal usage.
- Promote reactivation initiatives and encourage increased transaction activity.
- Gather insights that can support customer retention and product enhancement strategies
Requirements:
- Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 1–3years of experience in tele-sales, customer service, call center operations, or business development.
- Experience within fintech, banking, payments, or POS-related services is an added advantage
