Job summary
The Technical sales is responsible for the technical integrity of all installations , in lagos, Phc, Kano, Abuja and Onitsha covering system design, installation quality, technical training, and after-sales technical support. The role ensures that all solar, inverter, and battery systems deployed meet engineering standards and manufacturer
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve system designs (solar PV, inverter, battery storage, mini-grid) for projects within the region, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Supervise and quality-check installation work carried out by technicians and contractors across the region.
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for field technicians, installers, and City Manager teams.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, faults, and warranty claims from customers or field teams.
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers (solar panels, inverters, batteries) on technical specifications, product updates, and warranty support.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant electrical safety codes, HSE standards, and Absen's internal quality benchmarks.
- Maintain technical documentation, including system schematics, installation manuals, and maintenance logs.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring technical faults and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Support the Regional Project Manager with technical input during project planning, costing, and risk assessment.
- Manage inventory and technical specifications of spare parts and equipment used for installations and repairs.
- Monitor emerging renewable energy technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial to Absen's product offering.
- Conduct periodic technical audits of installed systems to ensure ongoing performance and safety.
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage technologies (lithium-ion, lead-acid), and electrical installation practices.
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings, schematics, and system designs.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Training and mentoring skills with the ability to upskill field technicians.
- Good working knowledge of relevant electrical/safety codes and standards.
- Proficiency with technical design software (e.g. AutoCAD PVsyst or similar) is an advantage.
