Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales Leadership:

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across upstream, midstream, and downstream markets.
  • Drive premium income growth through the acquisition of new clients and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Lead and coordinate sales activities to ensure achievement of assigned revenue and production targets.
  • Develop sector-specific business plans and market penetration strategies.



Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within Oil & Gas companies.
  • Manage strategic accounts and ensure high levels of client retention.
  • Conduct regular client engagement meetings to understand evolving business and insurance needs.
  • Ensure timely resolution of client concerns and service-related issues.


Portfolio & Risk Management:

  • Work closely with underwriting and technical teams to structure appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Support the development and renewal of Oil & Gas insurance portfolios.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.


Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement:

  • Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
  • Provide market insights and strategic recommendations to management.


Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor team performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Conduct coaching sessions and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit periodic business performance reports.
  • Track revenue, pipeline activities, renewals, and client retention metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of client engagements and business transactions.


Requirements:

  • Minimum HND in Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional insurance qualification such as ACII, CIIN, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance marketing, business development, or relationship management.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Oil & Gas accounts or business portfolios.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and revenue targets.
