Job summary

The team lead, business development, will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, driving demand for the company’s financial products, managing client relationships, and ensuring effective sales execution in line with the organisation's strategic objectives.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Market and sell the company’s financial products and services through field visits, in-house engagements, digital channels, and other marketing platforms.
  • Drive demand and growth across the company’s product portfolio.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and follow up on new leads, referrals, and prospects generated through field activities.
  • Recommend and explain suitable products and services to clients based on their financial needs and business requirements.
  • Verify and prepare customer documentation to ensure Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of opening and closing client accounts, processing transactions, booking deals, and liquidation instructions.
  • Take ownership of loan recovery and portfolio management for all assigned client accounts.
  • Cross-sell financial products, including risk assets and other financial services, to existing and prospective clients.
  • Monitor loan clients’ repayment schedules daily and escalate missed payments promptly to the credit portfolio management team.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and marketing reports for management review.
  • Resolve client enquiries and complaints while maintaining strong customer relationships and service standards.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly performance review meetings and provide updates on business development activities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team to ensure the achievement of sales targets and strategic objectives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of loan products, credit processes, and financial services.
  • Experience managing client portfolios and loan recovery processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
