Job Summary
We are seeking a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our international school. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide support to students and help create a positive learning environment. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for helping students succeed. The selected candidate will be chosen by the Director of Schools in consultation with the HOS and classroom teacher.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons.
- Support students in their learning activities, both individually and in small groups.
- Help maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Provide support to students with special educational needs.
- Supervise students during breaks and lunchtime.
- Help with the assessment and recording of student progress.
- Participate in school events and activities.
- Uphold the school’s mission and values.
- Ensure health and safety measures are followed.
- Demonstrate professionalism and cultural inclusivity.
- Understand and adhere to school policies and guidelines.
- Prioritize the safeguarding of children.
- Attend assemblies and assist in supervising pupils.
- Promote good attendance and monitor in accordance with the school's attendance policy.
- Be available for parent-teacher conferences if required.
- Attend relevant meetings and training sessions.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Effective support of teaching methods and student engagement.
- Timely communication with teachers and staff.
- Adherence to school policies and participation in meetings and events.
- Assistance in curriculum planning and classroom management.
- Positive attitude and interpersonal relations.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree, NCE or higher in Education or a related field.
- Prior experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Commitment to student development and success.
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Working Language: English
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:20 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional Saturday work as required
