Supermarket Manager

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the supermarket.
• Supervise, schedule, and coordinate supermarket staff and ensure effective performance.
• Monitor sales activities and implement strategies to achieve sales targets.
• Manage inventory levels, stock replenishment, and product availability.
• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate shortages, damages, and discrepancies.
• Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, labeled, and organized.
• Monitor cashiers and ensure accurate cash handling and POS transactions.
• Handle customer complaints and ensure high standards of customer service.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, pricing, and product availability.
• Monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper rotation of stock.
• Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operational reports.
• Monitor operating expenses and support effective cost control.
• Ensure the supermarket maintains proper hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Prevent and monitor stock losses, theft, and other operational risks.
• Ensure company policies and standard operating procedures are followed.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate staff performance.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences.
• Coordinate promotions, discounts, and merchandising activities.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and report major management concerns.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and business regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, HND, or OND in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven years of experience in supermarket, retail, or store management.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Experience managing cashiers and other retail staff.
• Good understanding of POS systems and basic accounting procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
• Ability to analyze sales and stock reports.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
