Storekeeper
Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Storekeeper to join our team at our client hotel in Benin City, Edo State. The ideal candidate must reside in Edo State and will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of hotel supplies while ensuring effective stock control and proper storage standards. The Storekeeper will play an important role in supporting hotel operations by monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular stock counts, preventing losses or wastage, and ensuring the timely availability of supplies in line with hotel policies and operational standards.

Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Control:
- Receive, inspect, and properly document all incoming hotel supplies
- Store items appropriately, ensuring correct labeling and preservation
- Issue stock strictly based on approved requisitions and authorization
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory and stock movement records
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and variance reports
Store Operations & Coordination:
- Monitor stock levels and promptly report shortages, damages, or expiries
- Work closely with kitchen, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure timely issuance of items
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the store area
- Support internal audits and inventory checks
Compliance & Accountability:
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures
- Prevent pilferage, misuse, and wastage of hotel inventory
- Ensure proper documentation for all stock-related transactions
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
- Must be a resident of Edo State
- Good knowledge of inventory management and storekeeping procedures
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
Skills & Attributes:
- Computer Literacy:Ability to use a computer, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or inventory management software
- Attention to Detail:Strong accuracy in record-keeping and stock reconciliation
- Numerical & Organizational: Ability to manage inventory data effectively
- Integrity & Accountability: High level of honesty and responsibility in handling hotel assets
- Communication Skills: Ability to relate effectively with internal departments
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle stock and perform store-related duties
- Legally eligible to work in Nigeria.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and in shifts when required.
- Strong understanding of safety, security, and hygiene protocols.
- Knowledge of local suppliers and sourcing options is a plus.
