Job summary

We are seeking a high-calibre Research & Coordination Assistant to support the Project Sponsor in structuring and de-risking a large-scale oil-palm plantation project. The role is Sponsor-side and focused on sourcing, coordinating, briefing, and integrating inputs from a multidisciplinary advisory team—Project Manager, Financial Modeller, meteorologists, drainage engineers, agronomists, surveyors, and legal advisors—and converting those inputs into clear, decision-ready Sponsor materials. Technical delivery remains with appointed specialists.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
● Sponsor Support & Cross-Team Coordination
● Translate Sponsor instructions into clear briefs and TORs for: Project Manager, Financial Modeller, Technical and specialist consultants
● Maintain a decision and dependency register (locked vs under review items)
● Track interdependencies across rainfall, drainage, agronomy, land, capex, and financial modelling
● Enforce documentation discipline and version control
● Advisory Team Sourcing & Engagement 
●Identify and shortlist credible: Project Managers (agri / infrastructure experience), Financial Modellers (plantation/project finance), Meteorologists/climate data providers, Agricultural drainage engineers, Agronomists/estate managers, Surveyors and land scouts
● Conduct preliminary screening (experience, relevance, fees, timelines)
● Present comparative options to the Sponsor for selection
● Rainfall & Climate Workstream (Coordination)
● Coordinate sourcing of historical and seasonal rainfall data
● Prepare briefing notes defining scope, questions, and assumptions
● Coordinate engagements and manage information flow
● Organise and summarise outputs for Sponsor review
● Ensure rainfall outputs feed correctly into the drainage scope, planting logic, and financial sensitivities
● Agricultural Drainage & Field Engineering (Coordination)
●Prepare and issue Terms of Reference (TORs) to drainage and field-engineering consultants
● Ensure consistent rainfall, soil, and estate-layout assumptions are applied
● Track outputs, timelines, and capex implications
● Summarise findings into decision-ready Sponsor notes
● Project Management & Financial Modelling Interface
● Coordinate information flow between: Project Manager (execution logic, timelines, risks) and Financial Modeller (capex, opex, cashflow, sensitivities)
● Ensure technical assumptions align with the financial model
● Flag inconsistencies, scope gaps, and risk exposures early
● Agronomy, Land & Capex Integration
● Coordinate agronomic and land-suitability inputs
● Ensure assumptions across consultants are aligned
● Organise technical outputs into pre-planting vs post-planting capex logic
● Maintain a clear audit trail of assumptions
● Investor & Operator Readiness
● Organise specialist and modelling outputs into: Sponsor briefing packs, Investment summaries, and Q&A notes
● Support Sponsor during investor and operator discussions (briefing support)



Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1) in Agriculture, Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Economics, Finance, or a related field
● 3-5 years’ experience in project coordination, research, consulting, project finance support, infrastructure development, or agribusiness projects
● Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple consultants or advisors on complex projects
● Strong ability to prepare TORs, briefing notes, and decision summaries
● Proven experience working with:
● Project managers
● Financial modellers or finance teams
● Technical consultants (engineering, agronomy, environmental, etc.)
 Preferred
● Masters degree is mandatory
● Prior exposure to plantation agriculture, infrastructure projects, or large-scale land developments
● Familiarity with rainfall, drainage, or environmental risk considerations (coordination level)
● Experience supporting investor-facing or sponsor-led projects
●Regular presence in Ogun State, with travel to project locations and consultant meetings as

Salary:NGN350,000 - 600,000

Location: Ogun state
