Solutions Consultant
Job summary
Kon-X is recruiting a Solutions Consultant Intern to take ownership of defined customer opportunities and smaller projects across Building Materials, Energy, Construction, and Real Estate. They will prospect, diagnose needs, develop first-pass solutions and proposals, and coordinate delivery through handover.

Responsibilities:
- Build and manage an assigned list of prospective customers and projects; initiate outreach, qualify needs and book decision-maker meetings.
- Lead initial discovery for straightforward enquiries and join site visits; produce a clear needs brief, constraints and agreed next steps.
- Develop first-pass solution options from approved products, including equipment lists and compatibility checks; flag requirements for specialist review.
- Present approved demonstrations and product options; coordinate manufacturer and technical answers and document customer objections.
- Own CRM records and a weekly pipeline report for assigned opportunities, including value, stage, next action and conversion risks.
- Coordinate assigned smaller jobs: technician schedules, material readiness, customer updates, outstanding items and handover records.
- Identify service and upgrade opportunities, track customer feedback and close follow-up actions; escalate safety, final design, pricing and contractual decisions for approval.
Requirements:
- Current student or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Services, Energy, Construction Technology, Quantity Surveying or a related technical discipline.
- Evidence of taking ownership in projects, internships, site work, technical sales or customer-facing roles; full-time experience is not required.
- Ability to read drawings, product datasheets or specifications and turn them into clear scopes, equipment lists and presentations.
- Confident customer communication, practical problem-solving and disciplined follow-through using CRM and office tools.
Preferred Experience:
- Project or internship work involving customer discovery, technical proposals, demonstrations or site visits.
- Exposure to building systems, energy, construction, building materials or property projects.
- Experience using CRM, spreadsheets, equipment lists or simple project trackers is an advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to ask useful questions, capture customer needs and define clear next steps.
- Technical curiosity and skill in turning product information into practical solution options.
- Ownership of assigned prospects, proposals and smaller jobs with disciplined follow-through.
- Clear customer updates and organised coordination of materials, technicians and handover records.
- Good judgment about when technical design, safety, pricing or contracts require approval.
