Solar Technician (Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria)
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Solar Technician to join our team in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems for residential and commercial clients.
This role is field-based and requires someone who is practical, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of an installation team.

Key Responsibilities
- Install solar panels, inverters, batteries, and related electrical components
- Perform site inspections and assist with system setup
- Carry out wiring, testing, and commissioning of solar systems
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty solar installations
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Ensure installations comply with safety and quality standards
- Assist with load assessments and basic system configuration
- Maintain tools, equipment, and installation records
- Work with engineers and project supervisors during installations
- Provide basic client guidance on system operation and maintenance
Requirements
- OND, Technical Certificate, or relevant electrical/solar training
- 1–4+ years of hands-on solar installation experience
- Good understanding of solar panels, batteries, inverters, and electrical wiring
- Ability to use electrical and installation tools safely
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-detection skills
- Ability to work on-site and travel when required
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hybrid or off-grid solar systems
- Electrical installation background
- Solar installation certification is an advantage
- Ability to read basic electrical diagrams
- Valid driver’s license is a plus
