Job summary
We are hiring a Software Developer on behalf of a client in the energy industry. The role involves developing BEMS platforms that monitor and control building systems, as well as dashboards and user interfaces. The ideal candidate will work closely with the product team to develop features from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain software applications and platforms that support the company's BEMS products.
- Develop and integrate APIs that connect hardware/IoT sensor data (HVAC, lighting, power, security) with software dashboards and control systems.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code across the stack (backend and/or frontend, depending on assignment).
- Collaborate with the tech team to translate product requirements into technical specifications.
- Test, debug, and optimize applications for performance, security, and reliability.
- Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of live systems.
- Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, tools, and infrastructure as the product evolves.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2–4 years of relevant software development experience.
- Proficiency in relevant languages/frameworks such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and React (or equivalent modern stack).
- Experience working with REST APIs and real-time data protocols (such as MQTT) — IoT/hardware-integration experience is a strong plus given the BEMS context.
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment with evolving priorities.
